You rarely come across a talented standout designer like Layshi. She is energetic and enthusiastic, always eager to take on the next challenge.

I have had the honor of collaborating in person with Layshi for over two years on multiple projects during our shared time at BOLD. Her positive impact on the overall design team and culture is outstanding. She single handedly initiated multiple DesignOps projects that vastly improved our team’s workflow, processes, and productivity. She was always full of great ideas for the projects we worked on and consistently advocated for our users.

Layshi is very quick to build relationships, with a genuine and professional attitude, anywhere she goes. She has an energy that is hard to find in most people, passionate about her work and dedicated to deliver.

She's always ready to learn, evolve and work on feedback. It's been a pleasure to manage her for a year and whoever works with her next is a very lucky person!

I have been incredibly lucky to meet Layshi during our time working at Sketch. As a Product Designer, I often collaborated with Layshi. She was the voice of the community, helping us keep all kinds of designers present in our roles, products, and processes. Simply put, Layshi's knowledge of the industry is unique and holistic, helping us create better experiences for our customers.

I had the great opportunity of working with Layshi when she was the very first Visual Designer hired in our Puerto Rico office of Bold. I worked directly with her on several projects and watched her quickly rise from apprentice to Senior Visual Designer.

Layshi would take on many projects given to her and worked very hard and smartly to deliver a quality and innovative design as quickly as possible. She did this in spite of sometimes unclear and ambiguous requirements and sometimes unreasonable time lines. It was also common to have design requirements change a few times in the course of the project. However, Layshi always maintained a calmness and a great joy for her work.

Lays goes beyond your typical professional designer, Lays is a spokesperson for everything that a human being who loves and cares about design in a genuine and deep way should aspire, know and communicate. The presence of Lays to new generations of designers is at the same time a “reality check” of everything that we sometimes ignore when we learn about design, but at the same time, it is a breath of fresh air and hope of how much better we can be as professionals in design.

It's safe to say that Layshi is one of the best colleagues I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only is she an incredibly knowledgeable and talented designer but is also exceptional at sharing that knowledge. Anyone who has attended any of her talks or listened to her podcast, Command Z, can attest to that.
